UniFi Access - Access Control Architecture

A UniFi Access Control Hub is the central unit for door access, featuring input and output terminals and PoE ports. The diagrams below illustrate the topology of different UniFi Access Control Hub types for various scenarios.

Single-Door Access Control

Access Hub (UA-Hub) and Door Hub (UA-Hub-Door) are the two types of single-door Access Control Hub with the following functionality:

Multi-Door Access Control

Enterprise Access Hub (EAH-8) is an enterprise-grade Access Control Hub with the following functionality:

  • Provides complete entry and exit control for up to 8 doors, with a maximum of 8 reader support.
  • Provides battery backup support.
  • Designed for central room installation to simplify maintenance.

This hub is ideal if you aim to manage up to 8 doors. Featuring 8 PoE ports, it enables the flexibility of pairing either one reader per door or multiple readers per door.

All-in-One Access Control Hub and Reader

Access Ultra (UA-Ultra) is designed for the simplest single-door scenarios, integrating the hub and reader into one PoE+ powered device. This cost-effective solution offers quick deployment. It is best used as a secondary security layer in buildings with existing basic security and surveillance, such as office meeting rooms, guest rooms, or locker rooms.

Gate Access Solution

The Gate Access Starter Kit (UA-SK-Gate) helps you get started with gate access and pedestrian side door control. It comes with a Gate Hub (UA-Hub-Gate) with the following functionality:

Elevator Access Control

The Elevator Starter Kit (UA-SK-Elevator) helps you get started with elevator access control. It comes with an Elevator Hub (UA-Hub-Elevator) with the following functionality:

  • Supports up to 18 floors and manages digital inputs for car status and emergencies.
  • Supports controlling access to specific floors.
  • Simplifies installation by leveraging existing cabling to connect to the elevator car.
  • Can be installed either in a machine room outside the elevator or inside the elevator car.
