Unlock a Location by Schedule

Set a schedule to keep a location unlocked at regular intervals for free access. Outside this schedule, the location remains locked and requires an authorized access credential.

1. Go to your Access application > Dashboard > hover your mouse over a location > Manage > Settings > Unlock Schedule.
2. Select Custom Schedule and do either of the following:
   • Set the time when the location should remain unlocked, with up to 20 timeframes per day.
   • Tick the Use a Predefined Schedule checkbox and select a schedule from the predefined options in Settings > Policies & Schedules > Schedules.
3. Enable Holiday Schedule to specify unlock times for holidays:
   • Click Set Holiday and define the holidays.
   • Set the unlock schedule for these holidays.
4. Enable the First-Person-In Requirement to ensure the location remains locked until an authorized user (designated as the first to enter) unlocks it during the scheduled unlock period. The unlock period will reset either every other day or at specified intervals.

Example of First-Person-In Requirement

If an admin sets a daily unlock schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM, assigns an employee as the first person to enter, and the employee unlocks the location at 10 AM:

• The location will remain locked before 10 AM because the assigned first person did not access it before that time. It will also remain locked after 5 PM.
• The location will be unlocked from 10 AM to 5 PM.
• On the next scheduled day, the location will remain locked until the employee unlocks it during the scheduled time.

Temporarily Unlock a Location

Even with an unlock schedule set, you can still temporarily keep a location either unlocked or locked.

Note: Requires Access application 1.20.13 or later and Access Control Hub 4.2.1 or later.

1. Go to your Access application > Dashboard and click the Click to Unlock icon beside a location to unlock it immediately, or do either of the following:
   
   • Hover your mouse over a location and go to Manage > Overview.
     
   • Click a location to access its live view.
     
2. Click to Unlock the location immediately, or select an action from the drop-down menu:
   • Leave Unlocked: The location will remain unlocked until locked manually.
   • Unlock for 10 Minutes
   • Unlock for 30 Minutes
   • Unlock for 1 Hour
   • Custom Unlock Duration
   • Lockdown: The location will be locked and cannot be accessed, even with authorized credentials. See Activate Emergency Lockdown or Evacuation for details.
