UniFi Access - PIN Configuration
UniFi Access lets you assign custom PIN codes to users for unlocking doors. This article covers assigning PINs to regular users. If you need to provide a guest with a PIN code, click here. For a complete list of supported unlock methods, click here.
Assigning PINs to Users
- Navigate to Access application > Settings > Admins & Users > Users.
- Click on a user, then go to Settings > Assignments and click Add PIN.
- Enter a PIN or generate a random one and click Add.
Managing Global PIN Settings
You can customize PIN settings in Access application > Settings > General > Security > Credentials > PIN.
- Set PIN length to 4, 6, or 8.
- Randomize Keypad Layout: Only supported on Reader Pro and Intercom.
- Allow Simple PIN: Allow PIN to contain sequential or repeated numbers (e.g., 123456, 000000)
Unlocking Doors with PINs
- Approach a compatible reader.
- Tap PIN Unlock on the reader screen.
- Enter your PIN and press Enter.
- Once recognized, the door will unlock.

Can a user have multiple PINs?
No, each user can have only one PIN.
