Configuring PIN Unlock in UniFi Access

UniFi Access lets you assign custom PIN codes to users for unlocking doors. This article covers assigning PINs to regular users. If you need to provide a guest or visitor with a PIN code, click here. For a complete list of supported unlock methods, click here. 

Assigning PINs to Users

1. Navigate to Access application > Settings > Admins & Users > Users.
2. Click on a user, then go to Settings > Assignments and click Add PIN.
3. Enter a PIN or generate a random one and click Add.

Managing PIN Settings

Configuring PIN Length for All Readers

1. Customize PIN length for all readers in Access application > Settings > General > PIN and select Fixed Length (4, 6, or 8 Digits) or Variable Length.

Configuring PIN Keypad Layout for Individual Readers

1. Customize PIN keypad layout for an Intercom or Reader Pro in Access application > Devices > Readers > Settings > Access Methods > PIN > Keypad Layout and select Standard or Randomized.

Unlocking Doors with PINs

1. Approach a compatible reader.
2. Tap PIN Unlock on the reader screen. 
3. Enter your PIN and press Enter.
4. Once recognized, the door will unlock.
