Connecting Sirens
- The siren sounds when the security devices wired to the hub send a signal.
-
Example 1: When the fire panel detects a fire. See configuring Emergency terminal settings
- Example 2: When the door position sensor (DPS) detects that a door remains open too long or is accessed without authorization. See configuring DPS terminal settings
-
- The siren usually connects to the hub's AUX - SIREN/CHIME relay terminal.
Connecting Chimes
- A third-party chime and a doorbell button wired to the hub provide audible alerts when the button is pressed, notifying authorized personnel of a visitor's presence.
- The chime usually connects to the hub's AUX - SIREN/CHIME relay terminal.
Important Reminder: Do Not Use an External Power Source
The SIREN/CHIME relay terminal provides 12V power and cannot be supplemented with an external power source. Connecting an additional 12V source will damage the hub.

FAQs
Can I use UniFi Chimes instead of third-party chimes?
Yes. UniFi offers PoE Smart Chime (UACC-Chime-PoE) and WiFi Smart Chime (UP-Chime) that work seamlessly without a direct connection to the hub.
You can set them as doorbell call receivers for your Intercom or Pro Readers, or pair them with a hub by navigating to Access application > Devices > select a hub > Settings > Terminal Manager > Button (or Exit Request) > Mode > Ring/Trigger Chime > Select UniFi Chimes.
