Configuring Output Terminal Settings

Output terminal settings such as locks, door operators, sirens, and chimes are configured in Access application > Devices > select a hub > Settings > Terminal > Terminal Manager.

Door Lock Settings

After a door lock is wired to the hub, set the duration for which a door remains unlocked after access is granted.

Door Operator Settings

After a door operator is wired to the hub for automated door opening and closing, set a delayed door opening and unlock duration for safety and accessibility needs.

  • Door Hub: Navigate to Auxiliary (AUX) > Mode > Door Opener > Delay Door Opening.
  • Enterprise Access Hub, Retrofit Hub: Navigate to Location AUX > Mode > Door Opener > Delay Door Opening.
    • Open Door After: Set when the operator activates after a user is authenticated and unlocks the door.
    • Trigger Duration: Set how long the door remains open.

Siren Settings

After a siren is wired to the hub, set the duration for which the door can remain open past its unlock duration before the siren sounds.

  • Door Hub: Navigate to Auxiliary (AUX) > Mode > Siren > Trigger Open Door Alarm.
  • Enterprise Access Hub, Retrofit Hub: Navigate to Location > AUX > Mode > Siren > Trigger Open Door Alarm.
  • Gate Hub: Navigate to AUX > Siren and select gate, side door, or both.

Chime Settings

After a chime is wired to the hub, set the ring duration when triggered by a doorbell press.

If you're using a UniFi Chime, click here.

Configuring Input Terminal Settings

Input terminal settings such as motion sensors, request-to-exit, doorbell buttons, and door position sensors are configured in Access application > Devices > select a hub > Settings > Terminal > Terminal Manager.

Request-to-Exit Device Settings

After a request-to-exit (REX) device is wired to the hub for free egress, set the trigger level to close active (NO) or open active (NC) based on the device's specifications.

Doorbell Button Settings

After a doorbell button and third-party chime are wired to the hub for entry requests, set the trigger level to close active (NO) for most scenarios. However, settings may vary by manufacturer.

If you are using UniFi Chimes, click Select UniFi Chimes to specify the chimes to ring when the doorbell button is pressed.

Door Position Sensor Settings

After a door position sensor (DPS) is wired to the hub for door status monitoring, set the trigger level to open active (NC) for most scenarios. However, settings may vary by manufacturer.

Emergency Settings

After a fire panel is wired to the hub for fire detection, configure automatic emergency mode activation in the event of an emergency.

  1. Navigate to Emergency > Emergency Mode and select Lockdown or Evacuation.
  2. (Optional) Tick the Activate This Mode for All Locations at This Site checkbox to enable emergency mode across all hubs at the same site.
  3. Set the Trigger Level to Close Active (NO) or Open Active (NC).
Important: Emergency mode triggered by the fire panel cannot be deactivated via the Access application, Access mobile app, or Admin Mode on a reader. However, if Activate This Mode for All Locations at This Site is enabled, you can still deactivate the mode for individual doors that are not triggered by the fire panel at Dashboard > select a door > Overview > Deactivate.
