Assigning UniFi Access Devices to a Separate VLAN

UniFi Access allows you to enhance security by optionally isolating Access devices on a dedicated VLAN, preventing communication with the main network. For a standard UniFi Access setup guide, click here.

Note: Network Video Recorder Pro (UNVR-Pro) does not support using different VLANs for the Ethernet and SFP ports.

Creating a VLAN for Access Devices

  1. Navigate to Network application > Settings > Networks and click New Virtual Network.

Changing Access Control Hub's Port Network

  1. Navigate to Network application > UniFi Devices and select the console/switch to which the Access Control Hub is connected.
  2. Navigate to Overview > Port Manager.
  3. Select a port and set the Native VLAN / Network to the network you just created.
  4. Click Apply Changes.

Assigning Static IP Address to Access Devices (Optional)

  1. Navigate to Network application > UniFi Devices and select an Access device.
  2. Navigate to Settings > IP Settings and tick the Fixed IP Address checkbox.
  3. Click Apply Changes.
  4. Repeat the steps for all Access devices.

Note: If the IPs are not updated in Network application > UniFi Devices, try unplugging the Ethernet cable and plugging it back in.

Updating Network Settings in UniFi Access

  1. Navigate to Access application > Settings > General > Advanced > Network.
  2. Select a network from the dropdown menu and click Apply Changes.
