This article will detail how to set up and begin configuring your UDC Leaf (EA) switch.
Unboxing and connecting your device
See the Quick Install Guide (download) for visual instructions on installation. The switch should operate with both power supplies connected for redundancy, and may optionally be rack-mounted.
Connecting to management network
The RJ45 ethernet management port should be connected to an L3 out-of-band (OOB) network for switch management, as shown in the Quick Install Guide (download).
When the switch is turned on and the RJ45 management port has a connection, the switch will obtain an IP address for management from DHCP. The IP address will display on the switch's front LCM screen. You may also obtain this IP from your DHCP server, or from an IP scanning tool such as WakeMeOnLan.
Managing using CLI over SSH
Once you have set up the management network, you can connect into the switch for management using SSH. The default username is udc and the default password is udc. For instance, in an environment where the switch is assigned IP 192.168.1.219:
user@local-computer:~$ ssh udc@192.168.1.219
The authenticity of host '192.168.1.219 (192.168.1.219)' can't be established.
ED25519 key fingerprint is SHA256:XYZ.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no/[fingerprint])? yes
Warning: Permanently added '192.168.1.219' (ED25519) to the list of known hosts.
