UniFi Protect - Get started with the G4 Bullet camera

The G4 Bullet (G4-BULLET) is a 4 MP, 24 FPS video camera with infrared LEDs and an automatic IR cut filter that optimizes day and night surveillance.

This article outlines the G4 Bullet's power and installation requirements, its adoption process, and answers frequently asked questions about the device.

Power and setup requirements

To use your G4 Bullet, you will need:

  • A network video recorder (NVR), such as the UniFi Dream Machine Pro (UDM-Pro), UniFi Network Video Recorder (UNVR), or Cloud Key Gen2 Plus (UCK G2 PLUS).
  • A UniFi Protect application hosted on any of the NVRs above. For more detailed setup instructions, see UniFi Protect - Getting started.
  • Any Ubiquiti PoE (802.3af) adapter or a UniFi PoE switch.


Install and adopt the G4 Bullet camera

Frequently asked questions

Does the G4 Bullet have an optical zoom lens?

No, the G4 Bullet is not equipped with an optical zoom lens, but the G4 Pro is.


Can the G4 Bullet be used outdoors?

Yes, it can be used indoors and outdoors. Wall, ceiling, and pole mounting hardware are included in the packaging to make deployment in any area easy.


Does the G4 Bullet have two-way audio?

While the G4 Bullet has a built-in microphone, it doesn't have a speaker. Therefore, two-way audio is not supported. 


Does the G4 Bullet have a tightening tool?

The G4 Bullet package doesn't include a tightening tool. Only the G4 Pro camera package does. However, a tightening tool is not required since the G4 Bullet can be easily tightened by hand.
