This article outlines estimates of the maximum number of supported cameras for each UniFi OS Console type that currently hosts UniFi Protect.
The estimates below are based on internal testing - your Console's camera limit and storage capacity will vary based on our image quality settings, motion on-screen, and the number of connected UniFi devices from other applications (e.g., UniFi Network access points). However, using more than the recommended numbers may inhibit system performance. Users with Protect application version 1.18.0 or higher can see estimated storage capacity on their dashboard in unifi.ui.com and will be automatically notified in the mobile app when system performance declines due to camera volume.
Cameras designated low bandwidth include 1080p (G3 Flex, G3 Instant, G3 Dome, G3 Micro, and G3 Bullet) and HD cameras (e.g., G4 Doorbell).
Cameras designated high bandwidth include 4K (G4 PTZ and G4 Pro) and 4MP (G4 Dome and G4 Bullet) cameras.

* Assumes the Cloud Key Plus is dedicated to UniFi Protect - if you’re also using UniFi Network, your maximum camera limit will be lower.
** Assume the pre-installed 1TB hard drive is in use. Storage is calculated assuming constant motion on-screen, so actual days of storage may be longer.
UDM Pro supported camera limits
Note: These estimates assume that the UDM Pro is dedicated to UniFi Protect. If you are also using other UniFi applications, your maximum camera limit will be lower.

* Assumes the Dream Machine Pro is dedicated to UniFi Protect - if you’re also using UniFi Network, your maximum camera limit will be lower.
** Assumes that an 8TB hard drive is in use. Storage is calculated assuming constant motion on-screen, so actual days of storage may be longer.
