This article outlines how to activate and reset the Emergency Lockdown and Emergency Evacuation functions in the UniFi Access Controller.

Device firmware requirements
In order to use these functions, please ensure that your Access devices meet these firmware requirements:
- UA-Hub: Version 4.0.11.353 or higher
- UA-Pro: Version 2.1.62 or higher
- UA-Lite: Version 3.8.26.375 or higher
Activate an emergency lockdown
Enable emergency lockdown in the UniFi Access Controller:
Note: Only users with Owner-level permissions can activate an emergency lockdown.
- Enter your gateway device's IP address in your web browser and log in to UniFi OS.
- Select Access from the application menu.
- Click the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner of the controller dashboard.
- Click the General tab on the settings page.
- Click the Emergency Lockdown button.
- Enter your password and click Enable in the pop-up verification window to activate the lockdown.
Note: Once an emergency lockdown is enabled:
- All the doors will be locked immediately.
- Authentication methods such as NFC, Hand Wave, and PIN Code Mode will be disabled.
- The UA-Pro screen will display a blinking red light and display LOCKDOWN text.
- The UA-Lite will display a steady light.
Activate an emergency evacuation
Enable emergency evacuation in the UniFi Access Controller:
Note: Only users with Owner-level permissions can activate an emergency evacuation.
- Enter your gateway device's IP address in your web browser and log in to UniFi OS.
- Select Access from the application menu.
- Click the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner of the controller dashboard.
- Click the General tab on the Settings page.
- Click the Emergency Evacuation button.
- Enter your password and click Enable in the pop-up verification window to activate the evacuation.
Note: Once an emergency evacuation is enabled:
- All the doors will immediately unlock.
- The UA-Pro screen will display a blinking blue light and EVACUATION text.
- The UA-Lite will display a flashing, alternating red and blue light.
Reset an emergency lockdown or evacuation status
Reset the emergency lockdown or evacuation feature:
- Click the Reset link next to the Door Status field's current emergency protocol (i.e., Emergency Lockdown or Emergency Evacuation) on the General settings page.
- Click the Reset button in the pop-up confirmation window. This process may take about 30 seconds.
