Overview
Readers will learn how to reset the UniFi Dream Machine (UDM or UDM-Pro) and UniFi Cloud Key models (UCK-G2, UCK-G2-PLUS and UC-CK) to factory defaults.

- Resetting the device to factory defaults will wipe out any backup files. Export and save your backup configuration to a separate device before following this article.

Introduction
A reset using the reset button will completely reset the UDM (UniFi Dream Machine) or UCK (UniFi Cloud Key) to factory defaults. Afterwards, you will need to run the setup process again. Resetting the device to factory defaults will wipe out any backup files. Export and save your backup configuration to a separate device before following this article.
Resetting the Dream Machine, Gateway and Cloud Key using the Reset Button
Use the table below to select your model and follow the steps to reset the device to factory defaults:
The images below show the location of the reset button on the UDM-Pro:
1. Power on the UDM-Pro using the provided power cable and wait for the device to fully boot.
2. Press and hold the reset button located on the front of the device.
3. Keep the reset button pressed for 10 seconds, after some time the Touchscreen display will indicate that the UDM-Pro is Resetting to Factory Defaults.
4. Wait for the reset process to complete, during which the device will automatically reboot.
5. After the reset has been completed, open a compatible web browser such as Google Chrome and navigate to https://setup.ui.com to start the setup process.
The images below show the location of the reset button on the UDM:
1. Power on the UDM using the provided power cable and wait for the device to fully boot.
2. Press and hold the reset button located on the bottom of the device.
3. Keep the reset button pressed for 10 seconds, after some time the LED will become light blue.
4. Wait for the reset process to complete, during which the device will automatically reboot.
5. After the reset has been completed, open a compatible web browser such as Google Chrome and navigate to https://setup.ui.com to start the setup process.
The images below show the location of the reset button on the UCK-G2 and UCK-G2-PLUS:
1. Power on the UCK-G2 / UCK-G2-PLUS using a USB power cable or via PoE and wait for the device to fully boot.
2. Press and hold the reset button located on the back of the device.
3. Keep the reset button pressed for more than 5 seconds, after some time the LED will start flashing white.
4. Wait for the reset process to complete, during which the device will automatically reboot.
5. After the reset has been completed, open a compatible web browser such as Google Chrome and start the setup process.
On the UCK-G2-PLUS, it is also possible to only reset the UniFi Controller while leaving the UniFi Protect installation intact.
Run the below command to completely purge/remove the UniFi Controller:
dpkg -P unifi

The images below show the location of the reset button on the UC-CK:
1. Power on the UC-CK using a USB power cable or via PoE and wait for the device to fully boot.
2. Press and hold the reset button located on the back of the device.
3. Keep the reset button pressed for more than 5 seconds.
4. Wait for the reset process to complete, during which the device will automatically reboot.
5. After the reset has been completed, open a compatible web browser such as Google Chrome and start the setup process.
