EdgeSwitch & EdgeSwitch X - UISP Adoption

Overview

Readers will learn how to add an EdgeSwitch or EdgeSwitch X to the Ubiquiti ISP Network and Business Management software (UISP).

NOTES & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Applicable to the latest firmware on all EdgeSwitch and EdgeSwitch X (ES-X) models.

Adding the EdgeSwitch to UISP

The first step is to log into UISP server and obtain the UISP key.

GUI: Access the UISP Controller Web Portal.

1. Navigate to the Devices  devices.png  tab to obtain the UISP key.

2. Select the ▼ icon next to the Add Device button and copy the UISP key to the clipboard.

Devices > Add Device (▼) > Copy UISP key to clipboard

An example key value is:

wss://unms.ubncloud.com:443+aBcDeFgHaBcDeFgH+allowSelfSignedCertificate
GUI: Access the EdgeSwitch Web UI.

1. Navigate to the Settings  settings.png  to add the UISP key to the EdgeSwitch.

Settngs > Services > UISP

2. Change the slider from Disabled to Enabled and paste in the key.

3. Apply the changes.

GUI: Access the UISP Controller Web Portal.

1. Log back into the UISP server.

2. Navigate to the Devices  devices.png  to authorize the switch and add it to a site.

Removing the EdgeSwitch from UISP

If the EdgeSwitch needs to be disassociated with the UISP server, follow the steps below.

GUI: Access the EdgeSwitch Web UI.

1. Navigate to the Settings  settings.png  to the disable the UISP service.

Settngs > Services > UISP

2. Change the slider from Enabled to Disabled.

3. Apply the changes.

GUI: Access the UISP Controller Web Portal.

1. Log back into the UISP server.

2. Navigate to the Devices  devices.png  to delete the switch from UISP.
