This article describes how an administrator can export and/or delete data from their UISP deployment.

Effective as of May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a privacy regulation that aims to strengthen the security and protection of personal data in the EU and harmonize EU data protection laws. Besides strengthening and standardizing data privacy across the EU nations, it will require new or additional obligations on all organizations that handle EU citizens’ personal data.
Each record in the Clients section has a button that can generate a tar.gz file. Please be aware that one customer can have devices spread over several Clients, in which case you need to use this button in each of them individually.
The file contains: (i) information about a customer associated with the selected UISP Client, such as name, address, phone number, email, GPS coordinates, etc. and (ii) information about all devices authorized with the selected UISP Client, including IP and MAC addresses and other data.
Please note that some information about a customer has to be added manually by the administrator while the majority of the device data are discovered and stored by UISP itself. Please keep this in mind when authorizing devices into sites/clients. If you do not enter a customer’s details during the authorization process, you may be unable to associate specific devices with a particular customer later.

First, identify the devices, sites, and clients that are associated with the customer.
You can use the UISP fulltext search tool to find the customer’s name or address among your records. Once you have a list of all those items, you (A) can delete the applicable devices from UISP. Please note that you can only delete devices that are in a ‘Disconnected’ state.
Then (B) delete all client sites from the list.
Please note that the UISP logs may contain deleted client data such as the IP or MAC addresses. Such data may be retained in the UISP logs for as long as 7 days after the device is removed.
