Set Up PowerAmp
Follow these steps to set up your PowerAmp and connect it to UniFi Play:
- Connect PowerAmp to your network, following the setup instructions provided with the PowerAmp.
- Adopt PowerAmp in UniFi just like any other UniFi device. For detailed adoption steps, click here.
- Download the UniFi Play App (iOS / Android) on your mobile device.
- Log in with your UniFi Account in the app. Your adopted PowerAmp will automatically appear in the device list.
Setup Tips
For the best performance with UniFi Play, keep these tips in mind:
Optimize HDMI eARC Audio Output
- Set your TV or device's audio output format to PCM for the best results.
- Most TVs default to Auto, which can cause audio delays.
Ensure Network & Device Connectivity
- Grant the UniFi Play app permission to discover devices on your local network.
- Verify that both your mobile device (running UniFi Play) and PowerAmp are connected to the same VLAN.
- Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device to assist with device discovery.
Wiring Multiple Speakers to PowerAmp

Adding PowerAmp to Apple Home
- PowerAmp can be added to the Apple Home app to link the PowerAmp to home automations.
- If PowerAmp is set up in the UniFi Play app for iOS, it will automatically appear in Apple Home on the same mobile device.
- To manually add it:
- In Apple Home, tap the + (plus) button in the top right and select Add Accessory.
- Tap More options...
- After a brief scan, PowerAmp should appear.
- Ensure your mobile device is near the PowerAmp, then tap it to add.
