UniFi Talk Relay FAQs
What is UniFi Talk Relay?

Which phones support Talk Relay and third-party PBX solutions?
Only our latest third-generation UniFi Talk phones support standalone mode and can be configured with third-party PBX solutions like RingCentral, 3CX, Zoom, and others.
Where can I get UniFi Talk Relay?
Talk Relay is included in our Official Hosting service. Users purchasing an Official Hosting subscription can adopt UniFi devices from different product lines (Network and Talk) on the same Official Hosting site, providing maximum flexibility.
Can I use UniFi Talk phones with my PBX without Official Hosting?
UniFi Talk third-generation phones can work with third-party PBX solutions without using Talk Relay. SIP credentials can be configured directly via the phone's touchscreen, but for maximum ease of use, we suggest using Talk Relay.
Can I try UniFi Talk Relay for free?
If you haven't used the trial before, you can try Official Hosting with Talk Relay for free for 30 days.
What happens if I cancel my Official Hosting subscription?
Your configured phones will continue working if you have a valid PBX configuration. However, you will lose access to remote management and troubleshooting tools provided by Talk Relay. SIP configurations can still be updated via the phone's touchscreen.
Can I configure UniFi Talk phones in standalone mode using a captive portal?
A captive portal is not currently available but is planned for future development.
Do 3rd generation phones work with my PBX?
UniFi Talk third-generation phones are compatible with any PBX that adheres to the standard SIP protocol and does not require proprietary firmware. Verified compatible providers include RingCentral, Zoom, Voip.ms, Freeswitch, Nextiva, Asterisk, CallCentric, 3CX, and others.
