Triggering Doorbells Using UniFi Access Readers

UniFi Access Readers allow visitors to notify tenants of their presence at the door. Tenants can see, speak with, and grant access to visitors. If you're an admin setting up doorbell call features, click here.

How to Trigger a Doorbell

1. The process for triggering a doorbell depends on the type of access reader:
   • Readers with a Physical Doorbell Button: 
     • Press the Doorbell button, or 
     • Use the directory to dial a number
       • Method 1: Select from the directory list
         1. Tap the Directory icon on the screen.
         2. Tap a directory name from the list to place the call.
       • Method 2: Dial the directory number
         1. Tap the Directory icon on the Intercom screen.
         2. Enter the directory’s dial number using the keypad.
         3. Press the physical Doorbell button to place the call.
   • Other Touch-Screen Readers: Swipe up on the doorbell icon if an upward arrow is displayed. If no arrow appears, press and hold the doorbell icon for 3 seconds.
     
2. After triggering the doorbell, wait for a response or for the door to be unlocked.
