UniFi Access - NFC Card Configuration
With UniFi Access, unlocking doors is as simple as tapping an NFC card on a reader. For a complete list of supported unlock methods, click here.
Registering NFC Cards
- Navigate to Access application > Settings > Card Inventory and click Add NFC Card.
- Select a reader to register new cards and click Continue.
- Hold a card to the reader for five seconds.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Assigning NFC Cards to Users
- Navigate to Access application > Settings > Admins & Users > Users.
- Click on a user, then go to Settings > Assignments and click Add NFC Card.
- Click Select Existing Card and Assign cards.
Unlocking Doors with NFC Cards
- Approach a reader.
- Tap the NFC tag on your card against the NFC icon on the reader screen.
- Once recognized, the door will unlock.

What NFC cards are compatible with UniFi?
UniFi supports NFC cards operating at 13.56 MHz. For best compatibility, we recommend using UniFi's Access Card (UA-Card) or Pocket Keyfob (UA-Pocket).
Are third-party NFC cards allowed for door unlocking?
Yes, you can enable third-party NFC cards by navigating to Access application > Settings > General > Security > Credentials > Card > Allow Third-Party NFC Cards.
Can a user have multiple NFC cards?
Yes, you can assign multiple NFC cards to a user.
