Migrating Data to a New UNAS Pro

If you need to replace your UniFi UNAS Pro device, this guide will help you transfer your drives and restore your data using system backups. For guidance on other models, see <Backups and Migration>.

Migrating Drives and Restoring Data

1. Set up the new UNAS Pro following the standard setup process. 
2. Ensure the firmware is updated to the latest version. For instructions, see How to Update UniFi.
3. Perform a factory reset on the new UNAS.
4. Power off the old UNAS Pro.
5. Carefully remove the drives and insert them into the replacement device in the same drive bay order.
6. Power on and set up the new UNAS Pro, selecting Restore from Backup.
   1. Alternatively, choose the option to Upload your backup file. You can download your backup from the UniFi Account Manager beforehand.
7. Sign in with your UI Account and select your system backup from the Cloud Backup list.
8. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the restoration.

If you are having issues, exit the backup restoration page and try again.
