UniFi Identity Enterprise - Door Unlock with Touch Pass (User Guide)
Touch Pass lets you unlock doors effortlessly by tapping your phone or watch on a G3 Reader—even if your device is out of battery.
This guide shows you how to add a Touch Pass (once set up by your admin) and start using it. If you’re an admin setting up Touch Pass, click here.
Requirements
Identity Enterprise for mobile
iOS 0.82.5 (1096) or later
Apple Pay is regionally supported
Your iPhone or Apple Watch
- iPhone or Apple Watch compatible with Apple Pay
- Running iOS version 16.0 or later (update iPhone | Apple Watch)
Adding Touch Pass to Your Apple Wallet
- Open the invitation email from your admin to activate your Identity Enterprise.
- Open the Identity Enterprise on your mobile phone, and tap Add to Apple Wallet.
- Read through the information and tap Add.
- Once added, an Express Pass window will appear, indicating that the pass works automatically without needing Face ID or your passcode. Tap Done.
- (Optional) Touch Pass will be synced to your Apple Watch automatically during this process. Ensure your Apple Watch is:
- Unlocked
- Worn on your wrist
- Physically close to your iPhone
Using Touch Pass to Unlock Doors
- For iPhone: Tap the NFC sensor on your iPhone to a G3 Reader.
- For Apple Watch: Tap the Apple Watch worn on your wrist to a G3 Reader. The Watch screen must be unlocked.
Apple Express Mode is enabled by default, letting you unlock doors with Touch Pass without unlocking your iPhone or Apple Watch. If disabled in your Wallet or Watch app, you'll need to unlock it with Face ID or a passcode. See here to learn more about Apple Express Mode.
Migrating Your Touch Pass to a New Device
A Touch Pass can be added to one iPhone and one Apple Watch. If you upgrade to a new device or lose your current one, you can transfer your Touch Pass to the new device, as long as it's signed in with the same iCloud account.
- Ask your admin to unbind your Touch Pass from your old device in the Access application.
- On your new device, sign in to your Identity Endpoint account.
- Add Touch Pass to your Apple Wallet.

How many devices can I use my Touch Pass on?
You can use your Touch Pass on one iPhone and one Apple Watch, both signed into the same iCloud account. Your iPhone can store multiple passes from different workspaces.

How do I re-add a Touch Pass to Apple Wallet?
- Open your Identity Enterprise for mobile and:
- Tap Add to Apple Wallet in the message box, or
- Tap the upper-right Profile > Door Access > Touch Pass > Add to Apple Wallet.
- Follow the prompts and tap Add, then Done.
What should I do if I lose my iPhone or Apple Watch?
