Exporting Clips & Cloud Archiving with UniFi Protect

With UniFi Protect, you have two powerful ways to manage your recordings: export clips for immediate sharing and archive footage for secure, long-term storage. Together, these options ensure your recordings are accessible whenever you need them.

Exporting Clips

Exporting lets you download individual video clips for quick sharing, such as providing evidence or sharing specific events.

  • Mobile App: Tap the Share icon and select Export clip.
  • Web Browser: In the Playback or Detections tab, select the clip and click the Download icon.

Cloud Archiving

Archiving enables long-term storage of recordings without using up space on your NVR. Footage can be archived to a NAS, or sent to the cloud, using services like Google Drive, or OneDrive. 

Setup: Activate cloud archiving via Settings > Recordings in the Protect web app.
