Wiring a Gate and Pedestrian Side Door to the UniFi Access Gate Hub
This article explains how to wire gates and pedestrian side doors to the Gate Hub (UA-Hub-Gate). It covers the four supported gate connection methods based on gate closing actions, and a pedestrian side door connection method. Single Driveway: Automatic Gate Closing via Connected Gate Operator
- Suitable for gate operators that support the Full Open input terminal.
- Requires gate operators that support auto-close timers.

- Suitable for gate operators that support the Full Open input terminal.
- Requires gate operators that support auto-close timers.
- Requires two gate operators to control both entry and exit.

Automatic Gate Closing by Gate Hub's Auto-Close Timer
- Suitable for gate operators that support both Full Open and Full Closed input terminals.
- Suitable for gates where a single driveway is used.

Manual Gate Closing
- Suitable for roll-up gates and garage doors that use a single-button garage opener.
- Manually controlled gate opening/closing via remote control or UniFi Access mobile app / UniFi Identity Endpoint (iOS/Android).

Gate behavior when the gate opener is activated:
- If the gate is open, it will close.
- If the gate is closed, it will open.
- If the gate is opening, it will stop.
- If the gate is closing, it will reverse.
- If the gate is stopped mid-way, it will close.
- If the gate is obstructed while closing, it will reverse.
Important: Before enabling manual gate closing, ensure:
- A gate position sensor is installed to monitor the gate's open/closed status.
- An entrapment protection device is connected for safety and License Plate Unlock compatibility.
