UniFi Access - Connect Gate Hub to Gates and Pedestrian Side Door
Before you start, ensure you have read through and followed the instructions in Understanding Gate Hub for Gates and Garages.
Gate Hub (UA-Hub-Gate) supports four types of gate connection methods based on the gate closing action, as well as one pedestrian side door connection method.
Single Driveway: Gate Closing Triggered Automatically by Connected Gate Operator
- Suitable for gate operators that support the Full Open input terminal.
- Requires gate operators that support auto-close timers.

- Suitable for bi-directional barrier gates for car lanes with two-way traffic.
Hardware Wiring
Software Configuration
- Go to your Access application > Devices.
- Select a UA Hub Gate > Overview > Terminal Manager > Terminals > Gate.

Gate Closing Triggered Automatically by Gate Hub's Auto Close Timer
- Suitable for gate operators that support both Full Open and Full Closed input terminals.
- Only a single driveway is allowed for this scenario.
Hardware Wiring
Software Configuration
- Go to your Access application > Devices.
- Select a UA Hub Gate > Overview > Terminal Manager > Terminals > Gate.

- Set Gate Operator 1 as the gate for entry or exit; Gate Operator 2 will automatically switch to the opposite function.
Gate Closing Triggered Manually
Gate closing is triggered manually, with support currently limited to single-button garage openers, typically found in residential settings.
- Supports opening or closing roll-up gates and garage doors using a remote control or the UniFi Access/UniFi Identity mobile app.
- Single-button garage openers are typically controlled manually by the user.
- Possible behaviors when the gate opener is activated.
- If the gate is open, it will close.
- If the gate is closed, it will open.
- If the gate is opening, it will stop.
- If the gate is closing, it will reverse.
- It will close if the gate has been stopped in a partially open position.
- If the gate is obstructed while closing, it will reverse.
- Before setting the gate to close manually, ensure your Gate Hub is connected to a gate position sensor and an entrapment protection device. This setup ensures that the License Plate Unlock feature will only open the gate when it is fully closed.

Software Configuration
