Troubleshooting 10GbE Connectivity Issues on Apple Devices

If an Apple device experiences connectivity issues or slow network speeds when returning from sleep while using a 10GbE connection, follow these steps to diagnose and resolve the problem:

Check Device Connection and Change Ports

  1. Ensure Secure Connections: Verify that the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the Apple device and the switch port.
  2. Change Switch Ports: Unplug the Ethernet cable from the current switch port and reconnect it to a different port on the same switch.

Adjust Mac Sleep Settings

For Mac Laptops

  1. Navigate to System Settings > Battery
  2. Select Options on the right.
  3. Enable the option: Prevent automatic sleeping on power adapter when the display is off.

For Mac Desktop Computers

  1. Navigate to System Settings > Energy Saver
  2. Enable the option: Prevent automatic sleeping when the display is off.
