airFiber - Unit Stuck in "Beaconing" Mode

An airFiber unit which remains in beaconing mode for longer than 5 minutes indicates that the radio is unable to successfully complete the process necessary to initialize a link. To troubleshoot:

1. First, ensure that the radios are updated to the latest firmware available for that specific device in downloads section.

2. See if the radios are able to beacon and enter "operational" mode.

3. If not, check the alignment of the antennas. Be patient in aligning the antennas—align only one side of the link at a time, not simultaneously. An installer should be at each end of the link to monitor the RF signal levels and make slight adjustments as necessary. Find more help on alignment in the linked article below.
