UniFi - Set Bandwidth Limits and QoS

UniFi offers numerous traffic shaping and Quality of Service (QoS) options to maximize control over your network.

Traffic Rules

In addition to speed limiting, Traffic Rules provide full next-generation firewall capabilities. They can be configured to apply to any client, network, or even specific application. See our full article on Traffic Rules to learn more.

WiFi QoS

Formerly referred to as Bandwidth Profiles, WiFi QoS provides a means of limiting wireless bandwidth, even without a UniFi gateway. They can be applied to an entire WiFi, or to individual wireless clients. WiFi QoS can be configured as follows:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Profiles > WiFi QoS (formerly Bandwidth Profile).
  2. Create a new profile.

Use With WiFi

Navigate to Settings > WiFi. Enable WiFi QoS, and select the QoS profile.

Use With a Wireless Client

Navigate to Client Devices. Select a client, then Settings, and select the WiFi QoS profile.
