Pairing UniFi Access and Protect Devices for Door Monitoring
UniFi Access strengthens security by pairing UniFi Access Readers and Protect devices with doors, allowing admins to monitor live door activity and review unlock event recordings every time a door is unlocked. Requirements
UniFi Access and UniFi Protect devices are adopted on the same UniFi Console:

G6 Entry (UVC-G6-Entry)
- To enable door unlock functions, G6 Entry devices must be adopted in the Protect application and directly connected to Access Control Hubs.
- G3 Intercom (UA-G3-Intercom)
- Intercom (UA-Intercom)
- G3 Reader Pro (UA-G3-Pro)
- G2 Reader Pro (UA-G2-Pro)
- Protect cameras
Pairing UniFi Devices
A Protect and Access device can be paired with only one door/gate at a time.
- Navigate to Protect application > UniFi Devices to adopt the Protect cameras and doorbells.
- Navigate to Access application > Devices to adopt the Access Readers.
- Navigate to Access application > Devices > Hubs > select a hub > Overview > Manage Paired Devices.
- Select the devices to pair and click Save.
Monitoring Doors
After pairing a device with a door/gate, you can access live camera feeds and review unlock event recordings.
- Real-Time Live View: Navigate to Access application > Dashboard and click on a location to view its live view.
- Door Unlock Recording: Navigate to Access application > System Log > Unlocks, and hover your mouse over the Play icon.
Unlocking Doors
When directly connected to an Access Control Hub, G6 Entry can function as a reader to unlock doors using access credentials. See here for more information.
