Requirements
- Only UniFi Console Owner, Super Admins, and Admins with full OS setting management can add users and assign features to them.
- To use and assign One-Click WiFi and One-Click VPN, ensure you have enabled them. If you downgraded from UniFi Identity Enterprise to UniFi Identity:
- One-Click WiFi and One-Click VPN will be automatically enabled in UniFi Identity if they were already enabled in UniFi Identity Enterprise before the downgrade.
- One-Click WiFi and One-Click VPN will be disabled in UniFi Identity if they were not enabled in UniFi Identity Enterprise before the downgrade. You need to enable them manually.
- The Door Access and EV Station services will be automatically enabled when the UniFi Access and UniFi Connect applications are installed respectively.
- To use and assign EV Stations, ensure you have selected "Access with UniFi Identity" by going to UniFi OS > Applications > Connect > DEVICES, selecting a device, and going to Settings > Controls > Station Security.
Enable and Manage One-Click WiFi/VPN Services
UniFi Console Owner and Super Admins can enable and manage the One-Click WiFi/VPN services.
- On your UniFi OS, go to Admins & Users > Users or Groups.
- Click the upper-right "Mobile Device" icon.
- Go to Services and enable the One-Click WiFi and One-Click VPN services as needed.
- You can turn off the One-Click WiFi or VPN toggles to disable them. When disabled, users cannot access the One-Click WiFi or VPN even if they are authorized.
- Fill in One-Click-WiFi’s SSID and One-Click VPN’s name.
- Click Network to manage more WiFi and VPN settings in the UniFi Network application.
Customize Logo & Name in Mobile App
UniFi Console Owner and Super Admins can customize the logo and name displayed in the app, aligning them with your organization's branding. The changes will be visible to all users using the Identity mobile app.
- On your UniFi OS, go to Admins & Users > Users or Groups.
- Click the upper-right "Mobile Device" icon.
- Click Change on the logo and select the desired image.
- Change the display name in the Name field.
- Click Save.
Assign UniFi Identity Features to Users
To assign One-Click WiFi, One-Click VPN, Door Access, and EV Station features to users and groups, do either of the following:
- Enter https://[your console’s IP] in the web browser of a computer connected to your console via an Ethernet cable.
- Go to your UniFi Site Manager and select a console.
Note: The console must meet the UniFi Identity requirements.
Assign to a New User
- On your UniFi OS, go to Admins & Users > Users and click the Add User icon.
- Enter First Name, Last Name, and Email.
- Go to Network and tick the One-Click WiFi and One-Click VPN checkboxes to grant the user access to WiFi and VPN, respectively.
- Go to Door Access and click the Add icon to assign an NFC card, PIN code, and access policy to the user.
- Go to EV Station Charger and click the Add icon to assign an electric vehicle station charger to the user.
- Click Add.
- Send the UniFi Identity invitation link to the user and help them get started by doing either of the following:
- Click the Copy icon to copy the link and send it to the user in any method.
- Click Send to send the link to the user’s email address.
Assign to an Existing User
- On your UniFi OS, go to Admins & Users > Users, select a user, and click Settings on the prompted panel.
- Go to Network and tick the One-Click WiFi and One-Click VPN checkboxes to grant the user access to WiFi and VPN, respectively.
- Go to Door Access and click the Add icon to assign an NFC card, PIN code, and access policy to the user.
- Go to EV Station Charger and click the Add icon to assign an electric vehicle station charger to the user.
- Click Apply Changes.
- Resend the invitation link to the user if needed.
Send Invitation Link to User
You can resend invitation links to users. This helps them download and set up the Identity mobile app, and access all the powerful features at their fingertips.
Send to a User
- On your UniFi OS, go to Admins & Users > Users, select a user, and click Overview on the prompted panel.
- Go to the Identity Invitation Link and click Send.
- Do either of the following:
- Click the Copy icon to copy the link and send it to the user in any method.
- Click Send to send the link to the user’s email address.
Send to a User Group
- On your UniFi OS, go to Admins & Users > Groups, select a group, and click Settings in the prompted panel.
- Go to the Identity Invitation Link and click Send to Users.
- Select the users you want to send the links to and click Send.
