UniFi Access - Set Up Doorbell

Doorbell enables door attendants to receive and answer doorbell notifications and unlock doors remotely through a web browser, the UniFi Access mobile app, the Identity Enterprise app, and UniFi Talk.

Note: If you have activated UniFi Identity Enterprise, doorbell notifications will be pushed to your UniFi Identity Enterprise workspace and Identity Enterprise mobile app rather than the UniFi Access application and mobile app.

Disable Call Initiation Feature on G2 Pro

  1. Open the Access application and click Devices.
  2. Click Readers and select a G2 Pro.
  3. Click Settings in the prompted panel.
  4. Go to Advanced and untick the checkbox of Show Doorbell on Screen.

Initiate Calls Using the Physical Doorbell Button

  1. Open the Access application and click Devices.
  2. Click Readers and select a UA Pro.
  3. Click Settings in the prompted panel.
  4. In the Doorbell Trigger field, specify the mode:
    • Hold for Three Seconds: This is a default mode. Hold the physical doorbell button for three seconds to initiate a call.
    • Tap to Call: Allows visitors to tap the physical doorbell button to initiate a call.
    • Disable Doorbell: The doorbell button can no longer be used to initiate a call.

Initiate Calls Using the Doorbell Icon

  1. Open the Access application and click Devices.
  2. Click Readers and select a UA Pro.
  3. Click Settings in the prompted panel.
  4. Scroll down to Display Preview and configure the doorbell icon display mode.
    • Quick Call: Visitors can tap the doorbell icon displayed on the UA Pro screen to initiate a call.
    • Swipe to Call: Visitors can swipe the doorbell toggle button on the UA Pro screen to initiate a call. It’s recommended to use the "Swipe to Call" mode to minimize the chances of accidentally initiating a call.

LAN-Optimized Doorbell for Identity Enterprise

This feature guarantees faster and more stable video calls while receiving and answering.

    • iOS: v0.65.3 (716)
  • G2 Pro: v1.0.122 or later
  • UA Pro: v2.5.208 or later
  • Phone Touch: v1.11.1 or later (currently available for EA)
  • Phone Touch Max: v2.11.0 or later (currently available for EA)

Enable This Feature

  1. Sign in to your Identity Enterprise Manager (https://[your workspace domain].ui.com/cloud).
  2. Go to Services > Door Access > Advanced.
  3. Tick the "LAN-optimized doorbell feature" checkbox.
  4. Click Apply Changes.

Note: If this feature is enabled, you will be temporarily unable to use UniFi Talk to answer calls until Phone Touch v1.11.1 or Phone Touch Max v2.11.0 is installed. You can manually disable this feature to resume answering calls via UniFi Talk.
