UniFi Access - Mobile Access

Mobile Access enables users to use their Identity Enterprise mobile apps to unlock doors during the schedule configured in access policies assigned to them. This feature will be available in UniFi Access soon.

Note: For enhanced security, it’s highly recommended to refresh users’ mobile access tokens on a regular basis. You can do so in Identity Enterprise Manager > Services > Door Access > Refresh Mobile Access Token.

Requirements

  • Activate UniFi Identity Enterprise.
  • Enable the Mobile Access method.
  • Assign access policies to users by doing either of the following:
    • Go to your Identity Enterprise Manager > Services > Door Access > select a site > Policy > Assigned Users.
    • Go to your Identity Enterprise Manager > Organizations > Members > Users > select a user > Permissions.
    • Go to your Identity Enterprise Manager > Organizations > Members > Groups > select a group > Permissions.

Mobile Access Methods

Note: Early Access (EA) feature: The sensitivity will vary based on different mobile phone types.

Grant Your Identity Enterprise Mobile App Permissions

iOS

  1. Sign in to your Identity Enterprise mobile app.
  2. Tap your profile picture > Mobile Unlock.
  3. Tap Allow in the Bluetooth field to enable it.
  4. Tap Allow in the Location field or go to your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services to grant Location permission. You can unlock a door using Mobile Tap without opening your Identity Enterprise app by granting it "Always" permission.
    • Always: Allow the Identity Enterprise app to access your location even when the app is in the background.
    • While Using the App: Users should open their Identity mobile app to unlock doors.
    • Never: Prevent the Identity Enterprise app from accessing your location services information.
    • Ask Next Time Or When I Share: This allows you to choose Always While Using App, Allow Once, or Don't Allow.
    • See Turn Location Services and GPS on or off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in Apple's support center for details.
  5. Enable Mobile Tap in Advanced Options.
  6. Drag to specify the maximum distance between your device and the reader when using Mobile Tap to unlock doors.

Android

  1. Sign in to your Identity Enterprise mobile app.
  2. Tap your profile picture > Mobile Unlock.
  3. Tap Enable to grant Bluetooth and Location permissions.
  4. Tap Allow to grant precise location.
    • Always allow: Allow the Identity Enterprise app to access your location even when the app is in the background.
    • Allow only while in use: Users should open their Identity mobile app to unlock doors.
    • Deny: Prevent the Identity Enterprise app from accessing your location services information.
  5. In the control panel of your mobile device, enable NFC to use Mobile Tap. If your mobile device has multiple NFC modes, please enable HCE Wallet mode.
