UniFi Access - Mobile Access

Mobile Access enables users to unlock authorized doors using their Identity Enterprise or Identity mobile apps.

UniFi Access

Requirements

To allow your users to unlock doors using their UniFi Identity mobile app, ensure that:

Supported Features

Feature Supported Platform Description
Mobile Button Android and iOS Tap the Unlock button on the Identity mobile app to unlock a nearby door.
watchOS
(Requires Identity iOS app 0.1.10 or later and watchOS 9.0 or later)
Tap a door on the Identity app for Apple Watch to unlock a nearby door.

UnFi Identity Enterprise

Requirements

To allow your users to unlock doors using their Identity Enterprise mobile app, ensure that:

  • Your Access readers have Mobile Access enabled. Note: All door access methods are enabled by default.
  • You have assigned door access policies to your users by doing either of the following: 
    • Go to your Identity Enterprise Manager > Services > Door Access > select a site > Policy > Assigned Users.
    • Go to your Identity Enterprise Manager > Organizations > Members > Users > select a user > Permissions.
    • Go to your Identity Enterprise Manager > Organizations > Members > Groups > select a group > Permissions.
  • Your users have activated their Identity Enterprise accounts and downloaded and signed in to their Identity Enterprise mobile app (iOS or Android).

Mobile Tap

Android and iOS Hold your mobile device close to a reader to open its associated door.

Notes:

  • Unlocking doors using the Identity Enterprise app for Apple Watch is coming soon.
  • Mobile Tap is an early access feature. Its sensitivity varies based on different mobile phone types. You can disable it anytime.
  • For enhanced security, it’s highly recommended to refresh users’ mobile access tokens regularly. You can do so in Identity Enterprise Manager > Services > Door Access > Refresh Mobile Access Token.
