UniFi Identity Enterprise - Protect Camera Sharing

The Camera Sharing allows administrators to assign cameras to any UniFi Identity Enterprise users. This differs from setting the user as the view-only admin for the UniFi Protect application in the UniFi Console, where all cameras will be viewable from within the Identity Enterprise mobile app, instead, it allows more granular control over which camera can be viewed by whom.

Note: Assigning camera groups is currently unsupported.

End-User Experience

After a camera is assigned, the user will be able to view it through their Identity Enterprise mobile app’s Cameras tab.

Requirements

Note: It’s highly recommended to update your devices and applications to the latest version to ensure optimal experience.

  • UniFi OS: v3.2.6 or later
  • Protect Application: v2.0.1 or later
  • Identity Enterprise Agent: v1.55.12 or later

Assign Cameras to Users

  1. Go to your Identity Enterprise Manager > Organization > Members > Users.
  2. Select a user and click Permissions in the prompted panel.
  3. Scroll down to the Camera Viewing section.
  4. Click the “+“ icon.
  5. Search and select cameras.
  6. Click Assign.

Assign Cameras to Groups

  1. Go to your Identity Enterprise Manager > Organization > Members > Groups.
  2. Select a group and click Permissions in the prompted panel.
  3. Scroll down to the Camera Viewing section.
  4. Click the “+“ icon.
  5. Search and select cameras.
  6. Click Assign.
