UniFi Network pairs with your UniFi OS Console to give you a central hub for monitoring and managing your network without any licensing fees. It can be accessed over the web (unifi.ui.com) or with the mobile app (iOS/Android).
For the best experience, we recommend using UniFi Network with a Dream Machine Pro. That is because this is a versatile gateway compatible with all UniFi applications, and capable of being managed remotely.
Without a UniFi OS Console, you will not be able to remotely manage your network and UniFi applications through unifi.ui.com, but you can still download UniFi Network on a Windows, macOS, or Linux device. Learn more about self-hosting here.

UniFi Network web application
Go to unifi.ui.com to access the Network web application.
If you are using a computer on the same network as your UniFi OS Console, you may directly connect to it:
- Enter the console’s IP address into your web browser. This address is displayed on the console’s LCM screen (for most users, it is 192.168.1.1).
- Sign in with your Ubiquiti SSO credentials, locate your console on the dashboard, and click the Network icon.

Common uses of UniFi Network
Manage UniFi devices
Go to the UniFi Devices page and click on any device to view its information and configure it. You can:
- Name your device
- Set the screen brightness or select Night Mode
- Turn device LEDs on/off and adjust their colors
- Set a management VLAN and/or static IP address
- Locate, restart, or factory-reset a device
- Adjust access point radio settings, enable band steering, check channel usage, and perform an RF environment scan
- Apply MAC ID filters and port profiles with detailed switch port configurations
- Configure your gateway’s WAN port settings
Create a WiFi network
To create a wireless network, go to Settings > WiFi, then click Add New WiFi Network. All that’s required is a network name and password, but other advanced options are also available. For example:
- WiFi Band: Choose the 2.4 or 5 GHz frequency, or both.
- Broadcasting APs: Select which access points will broadcast your network.
- WiFi Scheduler: Specify when your network will be disabled.
Click Add WiFi Network at the bottom of the New WiFi Network page to create your network. You can edit its settings any time or repeat the process above to create additional WiFi networks.
Create a network
UniFi Network automatically creates a LAN network for your devices. You can also add new networks and configure their specific content filters, VPN settings, and managed device roster.
Block a client device
Open the Client Devices page and select any device to view its details. Click Block to terminate the device’s network access.
To unblock a client, adjust the filter on the Client Devices page to show all blocked clients, select the desired device, and click Unblock in its details panel.
Apply a fixed IP address to a device
Using fixed IP addresses ensures that a client’s address will not change if it disconnects and reconnects to your network. This is useful if you are forwarding a port to a device and want to ensure it always uses a specific address.
To apply a fixed IP address to a client, open the Client Devices page, select the client, click the Configuration tab in its details panel, enable Use Fixed IP Address, then select the desired network and IP address.
To apply a static IP address to a UniFi device, go to the UniFi Devices page, select the device, navigate to the Device > Network section of its details panel, then select Static IP from the Configure IP drop-down menu.
Configure alerts
If you wish to stay informed about your network activity, you may choose to receive email or push notification alerts through the UniFi Network mobile app. By default, these alerts are disabled.
To enable alerts, go to Settings > System Settings > Alerts and select either:
- Auto, which will send you push notifications for key events.
- Manual, which will allow you to enable the alerts you want.
- Off, which will disable all email and push notification alerts
Note: Every alert will be listed on the Alerts page should you ever need to recall information in a notification you don’t enable.
Update UniFi Network and its devices
UniFi OS Consoles and applications
We recommend keeping your UniFi OS Consoles up to date since they frequently receive updates that include new features and security patches.
To manage UniFi OS updates, go to unifi.ui.com, select your UniFi OS Console, navigate to System Settings > Updates, and click the update link in the Status field if a console update is available.
We also recommend enabling automatic updates. To do so, scroll to the Auto Update section of the Updates page and enable the console and application toggles. You can also specify when you would like updates to take place in the Update Scheduler fields.
UniFi devices
To update your UniFi devices, go to the UniFi Devices page and check each device’s Firmware Status column. A blue Update available link will appear for devices that can be updated. Click the link to proceed.
To automate UniFi device updates, go to Settings > System Settings > Maintenance, and enable the Automatic Firmware Upgrades toggle.
