UNMS - Beta Version Install Guide

This guide explains how to update to a specific version of the UNMS project. This is intended to provide the user with the most recent UNMS features and improvements. This article applies to the self-hosted UNMS version, Cloud UNMS does not support rolling back to previous versions or manually changing the current UNMS version.

NOTES & REQUIREMENTS:Be advised that reverting back to the stable version may sometimes be possible only with a complete reinstall and related loss of data. We only recommend this feature for experienced users.

ATTENTION:Always read the release notes carefully. Release notes contain important information about known issues with the latest release. Sometimes it may be necessary to perform specific actions before the update to be safe. For safety reasons we also strongly recommend to backup your UNMS before any update.
User Tip:All issues regarding non-final UNMS versions are being discussed in the Beta section of our community forum. You have to be subscribed to Early Access.

Use installation script argument --version <version> to install a specific UNMS version other than the latest official release. This is for testing purposes only. Downgrading to an earlier version will almost surely corrupt your existing data especially if the CRM module is enabled. In case it is necessary to downgrade, we strongly suggest to uninstall UNMS, perform a clean install of the lower version, and apply the backup from that version. Upgrading to a newer -rc or -dev version, before it is officially released, can cause errors that will prevent further upgrades.

Use the --update flag to preserve existing UNMS configuration without having to specify all the installation arguments again.

curl -fsSL https://unms.com/v1/install > /tmp/unms_inst.sh && sudo bash /tmp/unms_inst.sh --version 1.1.0-beta.3 --update
